Call for Poster & Work-in-Progress Presentations

Plain text version

We invite submissions to SOSP’s Poster & Work-in-Progress (WIP) tracks. These sessions provide an opportunity to present early-stage work and receive feedback from the community. Contributions will be selected by the Poster/WIP program committee based on a 2-page abstract submitted through the SOSP Poster/WIP submission website:

WIP Submission Link: http://dedis.cs.yale.edu/2011/sosp/wip/

Topics must fall within the scope of the SOSP call for papers; submissions will be judged based on novelty and insightfulness of presented work; thought-provoking or controversial work, approaches, or ideas are particularly encouraged. Submissions should represent early work that is not yet ready for submission to a refereed conference or journal. We especially encourage submissions from students.

Posters must be submitted by August 21, 2011 at 23:59 GMT. Authors will be notified of the outcome by September 04, 2011 (or earlier). Accepted posters will be shepherded by members of the PC, to ensure maximum quality. The 2-page abstract will also be published on the SOSP website, unless authors prefer otherwise. The poster will be presented during the poster session at the conference.

WIP proposals must be submitted by September 25, 2011 at 23:59 GMT. Authors will be notified of the outcome by October 9, 2011 (or earlier). WIPs will have a 5-minute presentation slot during the WIP session at the conference. WIP talks will not be shepherded.

Authors can indicate whether they wish their submission to be considered for a poster, WIP, or both. The “poster” and “both” options will only be available until August 21.

Submissions must include title, author names and affiliations, a note indicating which authors (if any) are students, and an indication of who would present the poster/WIP. Please indicate if you can demo a preliminary version of the described system or technique. Submissions can be at most 2 pages long, with a text block of maximum 6.5 x 9 inches (16.5 x 22.9 cm), font size of minimum 10pt, and at least 12pt leading. Submissions that do not conform to these requirements will be rejected.
